Olympic Theater Arts wants resilience-themed plays

SEQUIM – Olympic Theater Arts is looking for original 10 minute play scenarios for the New Works Showcase.

OTA is looking for writers, both seasoned and new, to submit original scenarios on the theme of resilience. The deadline is April 1.

The community theater and performing arts center are planning to produce four to five short plays to take the stage, hopefully in person, and not virtually – in July, said Pete Griffin, head of marketing and image, in a press release.

“Now, who among you learned a bit about resilience last year? Griffin said. “Well, write it down for God’s sake. Create a ten minute play and be someone! Be a playwright!

All selected writers will have the chance to immerse themselves in the theatrical process while bringing their works to life.

“Creating new works stimulates community creativity and provides essential avenues for community engagement,” Griffin said. “Showcasing OTA’s new work will be an opportunity, not only for entertainment, but also for inspiration and community education. ”
