Burnaby Summer Theater’s production of The Underlasting Forest premieres this week
Deer Lake Gallery invites people to enjoy live entertainment this week.
The Burnaby Arts Council Gallery is hosting a Live at the Gallery session this Saturday, August 21.
The event, scheduled for 6:30 p.m. in the backyard of the gallery, will feature two acts: a performance by young sibling duo Francis and Francheska, with classical violin and guitar; and a performance of Burnaby Summer Theatre’s production of The Underlasting Forest.
Bring your lawn chairs and picnic blankets to enjoy the shows.
Families can also attend performances of The Underlasting Forest in the gallery’s backyard on two other dates: Friday, August 20 and Thursday, August 26. Shows are at noon and 2 p.m.
The show tells the story of Andy and Killian, two children who are transported to a dark and lonely forest inhabited by a mysterious figure, The Grey. The two must muster the courage to escape the forest and return home together.
Performances are free and open to all; the gallery notes that the show is appealing to young families, daycares, summer camps and more.
The Deer Lake Gallery is located at 6584 Deer Lake Avenue.
